We noticed a hardware problem in the 10359 (both revisions: 0 and A) boards and will be repairing or replacing these boards for our customers who have them.

The rework is rather simple - it is described on our wiki, you may be able to perform it yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Elphel line of cameras will not be influenced by the future discontinuation of Axis ETRAX FS processors.

Recently Axis Communications announced that their ETRAX line of processors is going to be discontinued in 2010. That fact will not influence the line of Elphel cameras - we are already working on the next camera system board design that will be mechanically and electrically compatible with the current 10353 boards, use most of the same software and FPGA code but have different CPU. Current 10369 boards are already designed in anticipation of that future CPU upgrade and incorporate USB 2.0 hub not supported by the Axis ETRAX FS. Of course that new system board will also use the next generation of the Xilinx Spartan FPGA, have more and faster memory, faster network connection. And there will be significant overlap in the manufacturing and support of the current model 353 cameras and the next generation ones.

Elphel is now offering Asus EEE Box computer with preinstalled development environment

for Elphel model 353 series cameras. Installation is based on Kubuntu 8.10 and includes all the needed packages and applications, you'll be able to start customizing your camera code even if you are new to GNU/Linux.

The project code is managed with KDevelop IDE (see screenshot), we also include FPGA development software

And of course there are viewers that have all the needed patches applied so the can handle high resolution video recorded with Elphel cameras.
